Just pouring the wine into a glass reveals a wonderful bouquet that shows plenty of cherry, cassis, and blackberry notes that are supplemented with wonderful suggestions of spice and flowers. The real treat is on the palate, however. Rich and opulent, this oozes with black-skinned fruits, toasted oak, subtle spice and mineral notes, and a silky tannic backbone that leads to a long, smooth finish. Very classic in style but with an approachable character, this is the kind of Bordeaux that turns skeptics into believers. While this wine is drinking well now, you could easily tuck a case or two away in the cellar and enjoy it over the next 5 to 10 years.
