Vines in the Veneto
Caposaldo produces wines from the classic Italian wine regions of Tuscany, Veneto and Lombardy. The estate's product line includes wines produced from well-known Italian grape varieties like Moscato, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, and Glera – also known as Prosecco. Caposaldo also produces a range of sweet sparkling wines including Sweet Moscato, Sweet Peach Moscato, Sweet Pink Merlot Moscato and Sweet Red Sparkling from Italy's Lombardy region.
The wines are produced with hand-picked grapes from low-yielding vineyards. The estate's Pinot Grigio vines grow from volcanic basalt rock and chalky clay soils on hillside vineyards in the Veneto region and are vinified in stainless steel. Also from the Veneto, the estate's Prosecco is produced from 20-year-old Glera vines planted on hillsides in Pieve di Soligo.
The winery produces Chianti with fruit grown in Arezzo and Siena in Tuscany. The wine is made primarily from Sangiovese with about 10 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 percent Merlot and five percent Malvasia. Around 30 percent of the wine barrel matures in oak vats prior to bottling.
